School Travel Plan

WHAT IS THE SCHOOL TRAVEL PLAN?

The School Travel Plan is designed to promote considerate parking around the school at drop-off and pick-up times, encourage more children to walk to and from school and to make walking to school safer.

The School Travel Plan team consists of key members of staff, School Travel Plan Advisors from Hampshire County Council, our School Crossing Patroller, our local PCSO, governors and parents.

We hope everyone will work together to make the streets of Hordle a safe and pleasant place to be!

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Parents, we ask that you please:STP Photo

  • Report inconsiderate parking via adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk (see below)
  • Park elsewhere, other than on the zigzags
  • Find a safe, considerate and legal place to park your car
  • Park away from road junctions (as per the Highway Code) as it is dangerous and blocks visibility
  • Make use of the Dudley Avenue car park, or a friend’s house (with their permission) and walk to school
  • Let your children out of the car safety, on the pavement side if possible
  • Be mindful to always leave sufficient space for our neighbours to pull into/ out of their driveways safely

TO REPORT A PARKING INCIDENT

Please send an email to: adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk

And include the following details:

  • the incident date and time
  • location
  • details of situation along with a photograph of the vehicle in question, showing it parked inconsiderately with registration plate clearly visible

All the details get logged and registration numbers will be published in the weekly school newsletter. In the unlikely event that someone has been reported three times, the photographic evidence and details of the incident will be forwarded to our designated PCSO at Hampshire Police, for review. He will then make contact with the owner directly.
