D-Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations

A famous date in world history, Thursday 6th June 1944, was honoured yesterday in recognition of Operation Overload which was the significant turning point in WW2 which secured our freedom.

Children arrived at school dressed in colours representing our union Jack flag of red, white and blue to commemorate this special 80th Anniversary of D-Day.

On offer on the school menu, was a special D-Day British lunch of fish, chips and mushy peas (served on 'newspaper', of course!) or a traditional homity pie, with bread pudding for dessert - a similar menu to that eaten back in 1944!

To follow in the afternoon, the school came together in assembly to reflect on and honour all servicemen that gave their lives to ensure we can now enjoy and live life in all its fullness.
