Mental Health & Wellbeing
Our vision is that all children will be able to live a life in all its fullness, both as children whilst in our care and beyond into their lives as future adults and global citizens.
Part of living life in all its fullness will be developing an understanding of the complexity of our own mental wellbeing and that of others. Understanding ourselves well is the first part of that journey and, as their primary educators, we acknowledge our responsibility to lay firm foundations on which they can build in readiness for ever more turbulent futures as adolescents.
At Hordle CE Primary School and Nursery, we make the following commitment to Mental Health and Well-being:
- Pupil’s well-being is a priority
- Pupils will be supported with well-being
- Pupils will receive training in how to manage their well-being
- Pupils will be heard; we are a listening school
Children are taught a range of skills in school to help manage their wellbeing, including:
- Colour monsters (Early Years)
- Zones of Regulation
- E-safety
