Home Learning
Home learning is an important part of primary education as it helps children to consolidate concepts they have learnt at school and offers parents and carers an insight into the curriculum we are covering. At Hordle CE (VA) Primary School, home learning is pitched appropriately depending on both age and stage. If your child finds any aspect of home learning difficult, we would always advise that you speak with your child's class teacher.
Foundation Stage
Reading
We suggest reading with your child 5 times a week using the banded reading book that they will bring home in their book bags, alongside with sharing an adult read story each day. Should you require any support with how to read with your child at home please ask a member of the team who will be more than happy to help you.
The EYFS staff will also share via the learning journal app various games and activities across the year.
Numbots
In the Summer term, children will be given access to Numbots, an online maths game that teaches and motivates your child.

Upper Juniors
Home learning is an important part of primary education as it helps children to consolidate concepts they have learnt at school and offers parents and carers insight into the curriculum we are covering. We encourage children in the Upper Juniors to start taking more responsibility for their home learning, with support from their adults at home. This helps to build valuable organisational skills that will help them transition to secondary school.
