Whole School Parent/Guardian Drop Ins - Wednesday 26th March
We wish to invite all parents/guardians to our drop in session on Wednesday 26th March, from 3:25pm - 4:55pm.
*****
Drop Ins Book Sale!
We are pleased to advise that we are reintroducing the small book sale during Parent Drop In sessions. Our wonderful book sale will be located in the library and has been organised internally by our staff, so we hope we have hand chosen books for children from all years to enjoy. Families will have the opportunity to purchase books at a very discounted rate (£3 per book!).
Please ensure you bring small change with you!

|
Breakfast Club / Den Bookings
If you require your child to attend Breakfast or After School Club, please ensure you have booked all required days on your child's Scopay account.
Breakfast Club is fully booked on many dates this term, so please check Scopay before you arrive to ensure your child is due to attend that session.
We cannot guarantee we will be able to accept your child on the day, without a booking and would hate to disappoint any families by having to turn them away.
Thank you for your support in this matter.

Bag2School - Monday 17th March
Help our school raise funds by donating your unwanted, quality items!
Team PATCH have organised our first Bag2School collection of the year for Monday 17th March.
Bags can be dropped off to the front school car park from the afternoon of Friday 14th March (or over the weekend) and no later than 9am on Monday 17th March.
Please place the bags under the provided tarpaulin to protect all clothing from the rain. This is extremely important as wet clothes will not be collected and unfortunately, we will be forced to dispose of them
As well as clothing, Bag2School also accepts items such shoes, hats or bags. For a full list on what you are able to donate, please click here.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support!

School Uniform Reminder
Unfortunately, we are seeing a rise in children attending school in items not meeting our school uniform policy.
School Uniform
Children should be in full school uniform each day for school, this means a school jumper and trousers or a skirt. Leggings should not be substituted for a skirt/trousers and a hoodie should not be worn instead of a jumper.
The only days that children should be wearing PE kit for school is if they have PE or a SPORTS Hordle Hub club.
More information on the correct uniform expectations can be found on our school website here.
***
Earrings
For safety reasons, children should only be wearing stud earrings. Earrings need to either be removed for PE or taped (parents are required to provide the tape). No other types of jewellery of any kind are permitted.
***
School Bags
Children should be bringing to school a book bag or small rucksack. They don't need handbags or oversized rucksacks for their school supplies - as you know we simply don't have the storage space.
***
Make Up / Nail Varnish
Under no circumstance is makeup or nail varnish allowed in school.

Annual Hordle Spring clean and tidy up - 15th March 2025
As school budgets continue to be extremely tight, we look to our wonderful school community to assist where possible. We would like to invite parents back to the school for our Annual Spring Clean on Saturday 15th March between 10am - 1pm.
This event has been hugely successful in the past, with the school sparkling after just a few hours of labour from willing volunteers! Jobs that we need help with include washing down walls, tables and chairs and generally making the school sparkle.
We will be hugely grateful if you could spare some time to help that day. We will provide all the tools and supplies and will even have Miss Trim on hand to make our wonderful volunteers bacon sandwiches, tea and coffee and home baked cakes!
Please note that for Health & Safety reasons we are unable to have any children on site during this Spring clean.
Please let us know if you can come and help by completing this form.
Thank you for helping us love our school.

The return of 'Eat Them to Defeat Them'
We will be participating in the Eat Them to Defeat Them campaign from Monday 10th March - Friday 14th March.

|
|
Spare Uniform Plea
We are running extremely low with spare school uniform across the school due to borrowed items not being returned. If your child may have had to borrow any of the schools spare uniform, please can we ask that this is returned to school at your soonest convenience. Alternatively, if you have any old uniform (or underwear) which is still in good condition and no longer fits, we would welcome donations to all phases.

We would like to remind parents/guardians of the term dates for the next couple of months.
Monday 24th February - First Day of Spring 2
Friday 21st March - INSET Day
Friday 4th April - Last Day of Spring 2
Parents are strongly advised by the Government and Local Authority to avoid taking children out of school in term time because of the disruption it causes to their education.
Following the update to the Penalty Notice Framework, Miss Trim has kindly put together a helpful leaflet to outline the important changes and how the penalty notice system will work. The leaflet can be found here.

We are pleased to publish our INSET days for 2025/26. As you know, we continue to work hard to improve attendance at Hordle CE Primary School and wish to remind families that, in line with guidance, term time holidays will not be authorised.
However, we have been mindful to place INSET DAYS on Mondays and Fridays, allowing for three days weekends and we are also pleased to share that we have scheduled one for Friday 5th December, allowing families to arrange for any Christmas celebrations on this day.
INSET Day Dates 2025/26
• Wednesday 3rd September
• Monday 3rd November
• Friday 5th December
• Monday 5th January
• Friday 20th March
We trust that having these dates in advance will be useful in booking to make the most of family time together where possible.
